THE WAR ON GAZA 2023/2024
Compilation of resolutions, records and reports of the United Nations and other international bodies concerning the war on the Gaza Strip
This compilation of documents (resolutions, meeting records, reports, and other publications) concerning the war on the Gaza Strip is compiled and published in an urgent fashion as events are still taking place. It contains UN GA and SC resolutions and other documents, UN IGO such as UNRWA, WHO, HRC, OCHA, UNICEF, and more.
The war of various Israeli military forces on the Gaza Strip which started on 7 October 2023, has continued beyond the date of publishing this compilation. According to the Israeli authorities, supported by western powers led by the USA presidency, the war was triggered by the Palestinian (Hamas, Islamic Jihad, and other national forces) assault on Israeli forces surrounding and sieging the Gaza Strip, inflicting on them and on some civilians hundreds of casualties.
However, Israel and its supporters had totally ignored and denied the facts that Israel had subjected the entire Gaza Strip to military control, imposing harsh siege on its population since 2007 and turned the Strip into an open-air prison with its 2.3 million people without any basic human rights and hope for a “light at the end of the Tunnel”. Before and during this siege on the Strip, Israeli forces committed several deadly assaults on the Strip causing death and injuries to thousands of civilians including children and women. This compilation is attempting to cover all or most of the events which had taken place since Israeli forces launched on 7 October its deadly campaign against the Gaza Strip and its Palestinian people as partially indicated above. It presents major documents of the above-mentioned bodies in a chronicle order (Chronicle list of items) with some indexing to help the reader locate the desired item.
Adnan Tawfiq Abdelrazek
Served for 18 years as a Political Affairs Officer in the Division for Palestinian Rights at the UN HQs in New York. During his seniority at the UN he served during the war in the former Yugoslavia as UN Senior Civil Affairs Officer (UNPROFOR) in Sarajevo-Bosnia.
Prior to his work at the UN, he taught Social Science and Social Work at number of universities in Palestine and the USA.
After retirement, he devoted his research to the tragedy and rights of the Palestinian refugees. He published two books on this subject and two books on the refugees’ property including their property in the western part of occupied Jerusalem.
He earned two PhDs from the University of Michigan at Ann Arbor.
